VC Scarecrow's Mountain Belle
(Lily)

Lily was the first born, and the last to leave our kennel - she was blessed to find a great home. Geoff Ferrer’s family has taken her far. She spends her days playing around the house with two boys who think the world of her, but in the field this dog is all business. Lily scored very highly on her NA test (108 Prize II) under Geoff’s capable handling. She was sent to Clyde Vetter for professional training in 2006 and posted a 197-point Prize II Utility Score at less than 2 years of age. On June 15, 2007 Lily recorded a 204 Prize I Utility Test, and on August 29, 2008 at 3 1/2 years of age, this fantastic little dog earned her Versatile Champion title with a maximum score of 200 points! Lily has set a very high performance standard for the kennel, and is a 5th generation versatile champion. Her International testing performance has matched that of her dam and grand-dam!

Scarecrow's Ain't No Pussycat
(Josie)

Josie was fortunate to have Dan Trudeau pick her out of the litter; she landed in a home with young children, and Dan’s older Brittany became fast friends with this energetic shorthair pup. Although Dan is new to NAVHDA and Josie is his first test dog, he’s taken her far in a very short period. Under Dan's able guidance, Josie posted a solid performance in her Natural Ability test, and she’s been gaining lots of experience hunting New England’s native grouse and woodcock. In 2006, Dan gave Josie a work out on geese - quite a feat for such a young dog. Although Josie has had some minor difficulties in her UT testing, she and Dan are gaining valuable experience. This girl’s going places!

Scarecrow's Extry Meguns Sadie

Sadie was the last pup born, and this “extry” pup gets lots of extra attention from her owners, Dr. Keith and Tamara Weaver. Living in Vermont’s magnificent Northeast Kingdom, she had ready access to lots of native grouse and woodcock, and a warm couch to curl up on each night. At 7.5 months of age, Sadie turned in a flashy performance and handily passed her Natural Ability test, much to the delight of her first time owner/handler! She shows a lot of potential, and this diamond-in-the-rough should polish nicely as she matures and gains ground-time on wild birds. Sadie's already well-traveled, flying to Utah and North Dakota to hunt wild chukar, huns and pheasant. The family moved to Arkansas in 2007, where Sadie and her younger sibling Seven will no doubt gain experience on Mississippi flyway ducks. We will be watching this pup develop!

Scarecrow's Southern Belle

Belle lives in Tennessee where her owner, Brian Derrick, keeps her busy training for NAVHDA tests and walking field trials. After posting a strong Natural Ability test, Brian has been training Belle using Bill West's methods, and she is styling up nicely in the field. She shares the house and yard with three other shorthairs and Brian's young daughters. Belle will be entering field trials in the near future, and we look forward to reports on her performances.
